Picked up this older kart yesterday for the grandkids to ride around our property. Appears to be a Hammerhead Mudhead 208r but nowhere on the kart does it reference 208r like the newer models do. Has a 208cc CMXX engine that I'm guessing is a replacement of the orginal. No evidence that it ever had a F/N/R shifter. It does appear to have an incorrect belt. All in all she runs and rides pretty good hauling my 6'1" 230lb butt around the yard. Any guesses what 500 bought me?

edited to add Mystery solved. I found an older youtube video that shows I have what Hammerhead used to refer to as the Standard model Mudhead. It was essentially the same as the 208r except it didn't come with a F/N/R shifter. Looks like she was made well before Polaris purchased Hammerhead in 2015. Also the engine appears to the original. I didn't see any evidence that any welds had been repaired so looks like the build quality was pretty good back in the day. Now I just need to squeeze a little more mph out of the old girl, or lose 30lbs. 😃

That $500.00 bought you a good time. The best part is after you ride it you won’t have to go see a doctor for a shot to clear up the infection. :roflol:

On a serious note though it looks like you have a 30 series primary with a 20 or 40 series secondary. Would need to see the clutches with the belt off to know for sure.
