Sure rips. 6 kW motor at 60v.

I have a bit to do still but for the moment the gokart is rolling nicely.

Hey ohv,

Lookin' Good!

I'm kinda into mini- EV's
...so, how's about some more info? :cheers2:

Motor, controller & battery?

Circuit protection, pre-charge &/or instrumentation?

Acceleration, top speed & range?

The chassis is a TopKart Surf, I put in a Surron power plant (motor, controller, wiring harness, and battery). I believe the controller is 6kW and there is no programming available at this time, I don't think anyone has reserved-engineered it yet. I am running a bypassed battery which allows more kW out—stock 100AMP breaker off the battery 60v and 10AMP on the 12v side.

I still have a bit to do like extending the wiring, and tires, and making an instrument panel and front bearings. and the steering should be replaced, finish up the battery tray. I upgraded the 12v system to add some lights and hook in an iPad Mini at some time. Another big one is the seat, way too small for myself and my son.

I did place orders from TopKart which was a bit of funds, some wrong choices from not paying attention but eh another lesson ha! Got to take out the welder which is always fun.

I built an electric lawn mower a few months ago. It's seriously over-powered and I'm itching to move everything over to my yerf dog.

Seeing projects like yours has me thinking about excuses I can make to the kids and wife to move forward with it.
