When adjusting the rockers DO NOT tighten the nuts too tight or you can strip the threading I'm glad to hear it is at least trying to start.
thanks, and im glad too. i kinda wish i could find a pic of a properlly set up motor, of course with the valve cover off, so that i can look to see if my is anywhere close when compaired

i got another dumb question.

what do the numbers .002 and .003 intake exhaust mean???

Those are "lash" measurements. You need to measure the free play between the rocker and valve stem with a feeler gauge with the piston at top dead center on the compression stroke. the first number would be the measurement of the intake valve lash, the second, the exhaust.

ahhhhh! i think i finally understand. YAY!

i want to thank you guys for your patience and for sticking with it until i understood. i know i can make people wanna pull their hair out, ive always had that gift

now i gotta buy a feeler guage. im hoping one of the major hardware stores carry them in stock, seeing i need some other misc. things

i assume they are pretty easy to use if its what i think it is. if there are any super crucial instructions to using them could someone fill me in :D
