Tyre size on a gokart

Hello

I would like some advice on tyre size on a gokart? My main question is whether it is better to have same size all round or smaller on the front rather than at the back.

I am building the frame myself, can post some blueprints for the design. It will be running a 270cc 9HP engine. I am not intending to use it on hard surfaces (by saying 'hard' i mean asfalt etc). Just a toy I can ride around my large backyard.

Also, I'm looking for larger clearance at the front of the kart.

However I am aware that smaller tyres at the front help the dynamics of a kart.

So far I have placed an order for 11" rear and 10" front tyres. Let me know if you have advice.

11" and 10" tires? I wouldn't stagger the sizes any further than that, just based on the need for flat cornering on rough grass. What size rims are you using ? , sounds like those tires are for 5" rims.

yep the rims are 5"
