Howdy,
I used the 48V 1,000W My1020 brushed motor on this kart

Brushed motors are much simpler to install & wire/connect
...just (2) wires go to the motor red (+) & black (-)

Brushless motors are more complicated
...usually having (3) big wires & (5) smaller wires to route & connect

The "main" benefit of brushless is that they have no brushes to wear out
...but, I haven't worn any brushes out

Battery cover is on my list of things to do

From a dead stop, the meter showed that the motor was drawing ~18A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wztjU3Uy4vg

I usually use the 12V 12AH SLA's for ~$25.00 ea. (48V 12AH =$100.00)
...the draw back is they weigh ~8 lbs. ea. (48V 12AH = ~40 lbs.)

For the Torsk I tried the 12V 15AH SLA batteries (~$130.00)
...but, they cost a bit more (~$30.00 ea.) & weigh a bit more (~10 lbs.)

Kool!, Thanks :cheers2:

Don't remember seeing the Z kart
...but, yup they are kinda similar

* Still lookin' for that stupid air chuck :ack2:

I was playin' on the Torsk kart
...& figured it would be a good idea to double check the accuracy of the speedometer

So, I got the GPS unit out & took another ride

It's kinda hard to hold/see/record the speedometer & the GPS & drive at the same time

At one point, I almost dropped the camera & the GPS & nearly crashed
...that's enough of that, & just kept crusin

As far as accuracy, they seemed pretty close :cheers2:
...it almost looked like the GPS, didn't update as quick as the speedometer

It should work great for our purposes :2guns:

Paint

I got the Torsk kart out this weekend
…& took 'er apart

I set it up so many of the components are "modular"
…& come off individually (dash, hand controls etc.)
...so, it came apart pretty easily
…& most of the electronics stayed safely inside of the backbone (speed controller, wiring etc.)

After disassembly, I gave 'er a good scuffin' (med Scotchbrite pad)
...then, blew all of the dust off (air gun)
...& finally, gave 'er a good wipe down (de-greaser)

The next step was to lay down a coat of some nice-n-glossy black on 'er :cheers2:

Looks pretty kool just like this
...but, I wanna make 'er "bling" :2guns:

While the black paint was dryin', I mixed up 16oz. of 2K clear with some Nitron "SuperShift" pearl powder

This stuff is supposed to "super shift"
...were gonna see

Well, upclose it's definitely "Deep Purple"
...standing back, it looks kinda like "Black Cherry"
…& I can see some metallic blue
…& a little gold too :2guns:

* these pics were taken inside on an overcast day
...can't wait til' I get 'er outside into the sunshine :wai:
