Tillotson HD ??

Hey guys, haven't been on in a long time but came across a pair of really nice tillotson hd carbs locally for cheap and I have a 460cc clone project coming up soon and was wondering if anyone has experience running an HD on a big block?

just to be sure by HD you mean the Tillotson carbs "made for Harley Davidson" HD, correct?

Well, if you can lean it out enough.. maybe.. but a Harley has a lot more Pack and Punch than a 460cc clone engine
(and by that I mean combustion volume AND max rpm)

So they might be a hair too big (i.e. cannot be 'throttled' down enough to fit)
IDK, never tried, I don't even know the size of the Tillotson HD carbs;
but from my guts I'd say it'd be tough at least to find the correct jetting for a carb that's made for three times the combustion volume and rpm...

I was afraid it might be a bit too much.....I'm glad I remembered you all....I'm had no luck searching the Web for anyone documenting trying it..they are cool, but I think I'll pass. Thanks again omb
