Throttle linkage/powder coat

Does the throttle linkage have to be taken apart before powder coating? The picture will show what I’m talking about. Ed

All components should be fully disassembled for a proper powder coat job.

Finished bores should be plugged and the corresponding external surfaces should be masked with proper materials. If you're having it done professionally, they can probably take care of this part of you specify which areas are to be done.

The linkage Rod is held in place by spot welds on either side. If you disassembled this part it would have to be spot welded to put back together, which would mark up the area that had been powder coated. I have a tendency to complicate things.

Disassemble the rod, Powder coat the rest... After powder, assemble, protect from welding, reassemble/weld, then paint the rod assembly.....
