Sometimes you have to push the limitations of speed and ride the line of pure insanity, maybe that was my thought process going into this project.

Pay no attention to the visuals of it.. cosmetics are the next phase.

It will go a 100mph in 2nd gear. Next step is a wheelie bar.

Feedback is appreciated, enjoy the video :stir:

The engine is a Honda CBR 600rr bored to a 1000cc

:0 what year CBR? the newer one's the FI? if so. HOW?!

I don't understand how you almost x2 that bore.. unless you found a way to fit the CBR1000 top end on the cbr600.. Also coolent issues.. assuming you have some sort of black magic and bored out the 600. [lets assume sleeve] aren't you a bit worried about the coolant and the wall thickness?

edit; as far as I'm seeing, the largest bore kit I could find for the CBR600 sold online, is 637cc....

Definitely screams, but its not a 1000. Going by a bore calculator, your cylinder walls would be in the negative. Someone yanked you man..

Fast kart though!

I know it seems like a big stretch.. I'm not a professional motorcycle expert by any means. The guy I purchased it from gave me the rundown and he's a great mechanic with some insane taste. However, it may not be a 1000cc - but it's definitely modified to its fullest capacity.

Update*** just bought some wheels n rims for it and am about to do some painting. I'm not looking to make this one crazy perfect, but it could definitely use a face lift.

I'll post some pics and more videos soon.

P.S. the video above doesn't even come close to what it really sounds like.. I'll try and do one standing behind it.

LATEST UPDATE***

- Painted with Rust Reformer and then painted it
- Put new wheels and rims on
- Flat Dark Gray Engine Enamel on Engine and Straight Pipes
- Flat Gray Painted Steering Wheel
- New Master Cylinder (bought today)
- Covered Seat (hasn't been fitted yet, I will fix it and get all the wrinkles out and tighten it flush with the seat)

I had this bad boy loaded up on my trailer and ready to role for a test run and sure enough, these cheap d*amn bungee cords gave too much (even though it was in gear) and slammed back into the wall of my trailer and it busted the radiator!

I was livid to say the least, however, it was repairable.. Used SMS JB Weld Kwik Steel.. Not the epoxy stuff where you mix it up, but the actually clay bar. Worked like a charm.

Next on the to do..

- Mounting bracket or brace for the battery.. Where should I put it? Anyone have a step by step guide to making your own custom battery box? Preferably one with a cover?

- Put a steel sheet behind the seat to reduce the heat in the cockpit.. I have MAPP gas.. Steel sheet, and a soldering kit.

- Hide wires behind the engine between the steel brackets.. Pref a waterproof sealed box that can withstand a little heat. Not much heat though because its a good 6 inches from the engine. The CPU, starter relay fuse, etc would go in it. I was thinking of using a small metal tool box with some high heat insulation, but didn't have any luck finding a box that would fit flush (around 9-10inches) between the steel welds. Anyone ever build a water sealed box that's small and will reduce wires from just hanging out everywhere with steps on making it?

Help and feedback is appreciated!

...& that's why you don't mount a radiator outside the extremities of the frame :)

I've seem ammo boxes used in that manner...

Agreed.. I bought some metal bars and need to bend them and plan on putting a guard around it with maybe a plate curved around bottom and side to reduce rocks and chipping. I don't know what the previous owner did with the rear part of it. Probably had to remove it to place everything.

Ammo box is a great idea.. I'll try a local gun shop tomorrow.

Just spitballin' here but, how difficult would it be to relocate the radiator? I'm thinking between the seat & the engine:
1. Very little chance of damage there &
2. ATM, it's getting all the heat from the engine blowing straight back onto it (which won't help to cool it); in front of the engine it'll get nothing but cold air...

U wouldn't want the rad behind the seat

Stick it above the air box
Best place for it

Really u want a bigger rad
U are pushing a bit more weight and pushing the engine harder
Usually when u put an engine like this in a buggy u would replace the rad with a civic rad

Or really any small car rad

As for an electrics box
Just a good old Tupperware box works great
Only cost a few bucks

As for tiring it down
Bungee cord
That's rough

I use 2 tonne rachet straps
Really it's cheap insureance for your toy
I used to use 500kg ones but they stretched right out

Thanks for the insights! Another thing to mention, I need another seat for it.. I can always cut some wood and cushion it and cover it.. Seems no one in jackson, ms has any old bucket seats for sale.

Anyone made some seats like these? I have, but I at least had a frame to work with. I would have to build this one from scratch
