Swapping My old Yerf dog 150CC Engine

Hello, Im new to go karts, I recently bought a Old Yerf dog Go kart but i have problems with the electric engine since whenever im not on gas it just turns off and its difficult to turn on through the cables that need to be attached to the battery. So does anyone know How i can swapp the engine, what engine, and how.

Post pictures of the issue, the kart and the "engine". You can upload them from your device directly to the forum ...A better explanation would also help. Are you saying it has an electric engine or is it a gas engine with electric start? Just asking for the sake of clarity.
