I haven’t updated this in a while, but I have been doing some stuff. Kill switch is halfway done, plywood is cut out, hardware list is almost finished, chain is cut to length. Slow progress but ramping up! IMG_3401.jpeg

Thanks

I haven't posted here in awhile! I've been a busy bee lately. However in my latest work on this kart, I have run into a problem. This kart has hubs that are 3in square pattern and 7/16 bolts (a unicorn size). I bought wheels that are 2&13/16 with 5/16 bolt holes drilled out to 7/16, because I mis-measured my hubs (not the brightest bulb...). I thought I could rig it but thankfully I decided against it. The last problem is my axle is stepped down to 7/8 (a unicorn size.) I couldn't find and combo on the interwebs that would work, even if a bought new wheels and hubs. Any ideas? Especially ones that don't involve a new rear axle...

Those sleeves on a wheel or axle don’t give me the warm and fuzzies unless I’m farting or pooping myself at the same time.
It’d be almost impossible to get it apart again for maintenance.

I agree, but I don't really see a better option right now. I'll wait and see if anyone comes up with something better. These darn unicorns are driving me nuts!

I came up with another idea. If I drill a new set of holes in the hub, will that ruin it? Tell me if this is stupid. IMG_3470.jpegBlack sharpie marks are roughly where the new holes would go.

Thickness photo for reference.
