Greetings. I have this old silver fox 606 with a robin motor on it. It has been outside for years. I am going to put on a harbor freight motor as I did a Murray go kart and it works great. My question I think is a simple one but AI and all that are not being helpful. The motor in the torque converter and the front and back pulley and belt and all that are destroyed from rust. The thing won’t even roll. I want to replace the torque converter. I don’t know what’s on it with like 30 T torque converter work? It has 60 teeth on the big sprocket and 9 on the small.

I don't believe you. You better prove it. :) I don't trust a.i. as it has been proven to vomit out whatever the programmer wants it to. I hope you're not a.i. We seem to get a lot of "bot" members.

Subaru Robin is a way better engine than a "harbor freight motor". I would resurrect it as long as it doesn't have a hole in the block or some other malady. That's what we do here, we...... DIY.

Do as you like with the old engine. Seems like you already know that the harbor freight engines work fine and are a good buy for the price. Go on Amazon and buy a 30 series torque converter. They cost around $70. Don't worry about which brand you get. They are all the same. You bolt the plate to the engine and the driven part attatches to the plate. A chain straight from the plate mounted sprocket to the 60 tooth axle sprocket. BTW, 60 tooth is the perfect gear ratio. Pretty easy, simple, and cheap. You will like the way the kart performs.

I am betting that it WILL roll and recover with a little TLC. Many such cases where we drag home the worst, cosmetically "trashed" karts and repair with a little elbow grease. Humor us with some pics.

Drain the oil, fill with new oil, replace the plug, clean or replace the air filter, clean the carb and fire her up! Maybe $25 in parts and material. Or send the motor my way.
