The Streaker s-465 had a recall on it due to the active rear axle catching people's hair etc and killing them. I doubt they still will perform the recall work anywhere. Is there any recommended sites to get axle covers for the old live axle carts?

Not that I know of. If you are good at fabrication I don't think it would be too hard t
o make your own.

If you're really paranoid about it, the axle is easy enough to guard with a piece of PVC pipe, some flat bar (⅛"x1" is plenty) and some self-drilling screws.

Usually on anything less than a car, a recall involves buybacks, not repairs. I can't speak to this particular case though.

My suggestion is to keep your long flowing hair managed and your shirt tucked in.

the 'original' solution for this was some corrugated tube
cut to fit between the hubs and bearings,
so that if anything wraps around the axle can turn inside the tube and thus preventing the injuries.

it's a very cheap and simple solution, that you can replicate on your own.

like that:

(that's a ken bar sk959 btw)

Ya the corrugated stuff would work, but I believe those recalls were more about hair getting caught in the sprocket and chain......

My solution? Get a haircut. :cornut:

doesn't work on loose clothing ;)

but yeah, a chainguard might be a good idea too.
but a chainguard was on nearly all karts back then anyways...

problem is by now the plastic likely dryrotted cracked
and the original chainguard was tossed out already.

So if you cannot find one that fits by chance
you need to make your own anyways
