I have an old Kawasaki Mach 3 motor I'm going to use, gonna build a platform off to one side and run it as a one wheel peel sidewinder.
Once I move one of the rear wheels out a bit I can use a Manco drive wheel & sprocket.
I'm thinking of running a gas pedal on the front axle, a big hose clamp ought to hold things in place.
Other than that, I don't see any problems.

Why not?
These aren't some 2x4's I found next to a dumpster, these are good boards from Home Depot.
I went through the whole pile and picked out the straightest ones they had.
I'm all about safety.

Since the motor will be hung off to the side, I'm thinking that attaching it to the back of the seat post is the optimal location. Have to buy some more hose clamps.
If I do go with nitrous, I'll go back to HF and get the $7 wheels instead of the $4 ones that are on it now.
Gotta think ahead.

Funny you should mention that.
Right in front of where the angle braces are for the rear axle I'm gonna nail in a piece of a tubafor and staple some foam to it so it'll be like the jewel pad on my Rupp.
I do like your idea of a milk jug gas tank. There should be room for me to attach it over the nitrous bottle.
Great minds think alike, safety comes first.

The other thing that i thought of was using this for fuel, then you have more room on the actual kart for accessories like a cooler and cup holder.

I was thinking along the lines of like they do in race cars and get an old washer fluid jug with a motor and hook up a button to push when I want a drink.
There's room on the main frame for a 12v lawn mower battry to power it with enough juice left over for a pumpin' system...May have to rig some additional brackets for the speakers.
This thing is gonna be awesome when I get done!

If you do make cup holders, They need to be reinforced correctly to insure proper holding functions. Take a look at this...

I'm thinking that motor wont be big enough. You need an LS motor. LS7, LSX, etc. and also, your best off with plastic wheels front and rear. And the steering wheel adds weight. Use a string or rope. No gas pedal... Adds weight, put a small string and reach behind you for it. Also, no seat. And two people is best.

It's already got a seat (no padding to save weight) and a rope for steering.
The pics don't show it but the wheels are nylon.
Need both hands to steer, that's why I'm using a pedal.
I told you I always put safety first.

I think your steering rope is an inadequate gauge. I would up grade to 1/2 sisal/hemp rope, it adds more grip(enough to burn your hands good in a tight turn) and thus better handling.
The truth...

Yeah. ...I would use pool noodle sections ducted taped to the rope....no hand burn....and would look really cool in hot pink....

I am in awe. You're my hero, jandj. Please tell us what kind of fuel you'll use to power this awesome beast until you hit the nitrous button (or string)? I hope it's not a proprietary secret fuel, 'cause I may copy this build. Well, I may use 8 foot tubafors so I can have suspension for trail fun.

I'm thinking alcohol with a little nitromethane for a kick.
It'll mean flushing the system after each use, but what the **** - you only live once.
Might have to add some aerodynamic pieces for extra downforce although I anticipate it's high speed handling characteristics should be fantasmogorical as I spent many hours in planning.
I'm not taking anything for granted though.
Granddaddy used to race Midgets and I have his old Cromwell helmet. He lived on a farm so I have a horse collar for neck support.
I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it....
