Got this kart today off of Facebook marketplace. Just couldn’t pass up a vintage frame! Does anyone know what it is? I got the ol Briggs running after much wd40 and persuasion on the valves👍

It looks like it might be an American Express. And don’t rev the engine up too much, until you pull that clutch. You’re missing the drum, so the weights might scatter.

Nope certainly not an american express..

the "engine rollbar" thingamabob is tripping me off,
otherwise I'd said it'd be a Clark Cyclops

Haven't seen OrangeKarte in a while, he could've told you for sure if or if not..

Yeah the roll bar is the big thing throwing me off as well. Can’t seem to find one with it that is a similar design.

Hmm, not too bad of a deal, but it is missing the axle/bearings.
Is does have a decent steering wheel, and an, ahem, seat.
Does the Briggs run?
Bonus points that it's muffler is flange mounted(exact same muffler as mine, in fact) since it's probably less restrictive than the optional screw in muffler.
Never saw blue on a Briggs before, me likey-likey. :p
Looks like a 90s/early 2000s engine.

Ah, just noticed you have the axle. :D
Even better deal!
But it does look a little rough.

Yeah it needs a little work but It has little rust for how long it’s been sitting. Definitely have seen worse. The Briggs didn’t run at first (stuck intake valve) but I have it firing off now with starting fluid. But it blows fire out fo the intake every time. Maybe my valve isn’t closing all the way? Who knows lol.
