I am considering building a "tote goat" type minibike. I have a Scott 1 horsepower 24 volt DC motor and a boston gear 5:1 worm gear reducer. I need a freewheel sprocket hub 3/4" I.D. for the output shaft, OR a freewheel hub 3/4", 7/8" or 1" I.D. for the drive wheel sprocket. When the motor is shut off, the worm gear drive will not allow any slip between the rear wheel , chain drive and output shaft. This should be a really nice setup, but I must have the freewheel to make it work. Can anyone give me a source for this item?

Any bike shop has freewheels for BMX bikes they are available to run either direction, are cheap and work great! You will have to adapt for diameters.

and bike free wheels are pretty tough. but you have HAVE to be a good machinest to make it work cause they thread onto bike rims.
Wrong.
Just go to your LBS and get a BMX freewheel, they come in right hand drive and left hand drive, and bike chain is #41 pitch. If you can't get one locally, go here.(just make sure to get a freewheel and not a cassette driver)

Yep hes got it nailed down. I'm pretty good with bikes my self and im sure northern DOESN't carry free wheels and cassettes. And another thing is that bike chain IS #41 pitch but its not very wide, so dont expect 41 chain from northern tool to fit on a bike sprocket.
