Front going around thingie is fixed and ready for install ;)

I asked the guy at the shop how much $$$ he said, don't worry about it, so I just gave him a $5 for his time... $60 bucks an hour to work on bikes and such....priceless.................................... plus he told me how to do it at home.

I present to you, the audience, the humble front tire.....

I still need to change oil, finish governor removal (you can see the lever is still there)....does it do anything if you leave that part in? Just Curious?

Plasma Table hadn't run since last August when mom passed...time flies, table was a mess, about 1 inch of rust slime mixed with coffee grounds 🧐

Internal governor has to come out.

The crank counter weight is gonna hit that rod, that's not gonna be good. Theres also a plastic button, that the gov rod presses against, that will fall off, get ground into a million tiny bits, then slung up into the compression release mechanism, causing it to fail and be super hard to start. And thats probly jus the start of your problems.

I'll find pics for you.

Remember, me saying that carb is not a bolt on part???

Sorry, couldn't resist, 😆 😂 🤣

Back in the early 80's we would buy the Anodized colored BMX bike parts (aluminum) spray with easy off..walla...raw aluminum

Nowadays, it doesn't work

My cyclekart got a gov delete, 1/4-20 bolt in top etc...with internal goodies.

It was easier on the new engine, hardly any mess.

Well after a cup of coffee,I went out earlier and tried 3 inch strap, plus other ones...no go.

I thought we all agreed the "fire method" of seating new tubeless tires was GTG?
It is largely unneeded if the tire is well formed, but they often come squashed and deformed from shipping or bad storage, being the bottom tire of a stack for example.

Anyway, if you get the wheel inserted into the tire and centered but the beads are nowhere close to being seated, you simply spray some ether in a short line from the outer sidewall leading into and under the bead area. Don't hose it down, but just apply a 1 to 2 second blip of the aerosol nozzle. Then, light it.

1. Remove the valve core from the Schrader valve using the valve core tool. This is to provide a release for overpressure or a safety margin
2. Apply the ether (engine starting fluid; by far the most flammable but carb cleaner should also work)
3. Using a cigarette lighter, ignite the outer edge of the ether where it was sprayed on the sidewall and....FWOOM! A minor explosion inflates and seats the tire in milliseconds. Quickly install the valve core before the tire deflates.

We always did that on the trail with our trucks, wouldn't work this time, he told me they have a ratchet strap with three blocks on it, he said use 3 ratchet straps at home the ratchet part every 3rd of tire to make a triangle...it worked

What a wet and cold mess today, 50* and raining all day. Just got back from a birthday/Memorial Day/four wheeling etc visit in SC.
Gotta change and go work on mini for a few ;)
Same here… I don’t have a garage so no kart work today… I’ll work on breaking in the engine tomorrow, maybe less rain. Have fun out there Bansil. Kill the trails for me!
