Hey DA checkout Ohio dmv laws, I plan on "slow vehicle plate" think golf kart or "medium speed", like atv that operates on 35/45 mile roads, slow can only crossover 45mph roads

Part of just 1 law,

It is a long deep rabbit hole for sure.....

I actually have the paperwork done, just need kart built 🤣

My next project was El Mini.
I didn't design or build this one but, I upgraded/modified it. ;)

It is a Serengetti Badger 450 electric minibike, that I got from the Northern Tools catalog, back in like 2010.
It was powered by a 24V 450W motor & (2) 12V 12Ah SLA batteries.
I upgraded it to a 48V 1,000W motor & (4) 12V 12Ah SLA's

Here's the build thread

I made & posted plenty of videos of the progress

Here's the intro video

The next kart I designed & built was base on an Aerial Atom car.
It has coil-over shocks supporting a swing arm in the rear
...& independent coil-over shocks in the front.

It has a 60V 2,000W brushless motor
...powered by (5) 12V 15AH SLA batteries

It's a blast to ride
...has a very cushy ride
...with a top speed of ~35MPH

Here is a slide show video of the build

Hey F.A., gonna call you Buzz from now on, you are electromotive obsessed. Very cool stuff. Also see that you're a fan of the "jacked up" rear end look of the hotrods from my old days, as am I.
Please tell me where to start searching online for the best prices on motors, batteries, and whatever it is that's used for speed control. Would love to build the reliability of an electric offroad kart for our Boy Scout troop to keep in one of the camp trailers.

Um...Kevin will do ;)

I'm not electromotive obsessed
...I'm just done with gas & engines

I've moved on, the future is electric propulsion
...& it's sooo much better :cheers2:

No pull starting, or fiddling with chokes, or oil changes, or hot exhaust pipes, or toxic fumes, or irritating the neighborhood with the noise
...plus instant power right from zero RPMS
...& ya don't have to "wait around" for the power "to show up" :bannana:

IMO The simplest, most reliable & cost efficient would be a kart with a 48V 1,000W MY-1020 motor kit (~$125.00)
1000 W 48V electric scooter motor kit w BASE+control box key lock & Throttle | eBay
...powered by (4) 12V 12AH SLA batteries (~$100.00)
