lol its really fast for a one speed lol... i only dream about a cvt... that would absolutely RULES LOL but i would have to add wheelie bars because sometime i fell like the front is lifting

and lol the feeling when the boost kicks in is just awesome!!! then PCHHHhhhhh :):):):):):)


for you guys that handled the gtc torque converter... do you think this torque converter would fit my shopping cart? i dont know if i can mount this tav backward on the 5.5hp honda ...

hope fully i will use the gtc in about a week but i can give you any measurements on the 3/4" bore tc2, i think gtc 1" bore is the same as comet 1" bore.

i just went back from a ride in my turbocharged shopping cart and i hitted 8 psi of boost :) must be the colder air :)

when riding on boost you can really feel the tons of torque the turbo is making its awesome lol

well people i can definitively say this : i turbocharged a gx160 engine and it works awesome! :)

ok lets try this again.. my versions of a go kart made from a shopping cart.

the second and third pic is a work in progress for more of a rat rod looking cart. going to put a leaf springed suicide front end on it somehow.

So, have you figured out just how much extra power it provides? Do they make mini dynos for say, turbo shopping carts? I'd like to see what it adds to the motor in numbers.

no i dont have numbers... :(

they make engine dynos for these engines but i dont feel like finding one near where i lives completely dissasemble the engine/turbo from the frame and paying for it to be dynoed...

so far i'll rely on this llol




for those that didnt get it... its a butt dyno LOL

Dude, I just finished reading this thread (took hours!), super entertaining! Mad props for your turbo setup, it's impressive to say the least! Keep up the good work!

Cool setup, I'm really surprised that you don't have any compressor surge. By my calculations on your engine, with no intercooler... didn't see one (or didn't look hard enough) and at 7-9 psi of boost you should be flirting with the surge line hard.

Couple of questions
do you know what RPM your running at? I guessed 3600-4000
Are you still having that engine stumble issue that you said you had at higher boost?

nope runs real well ! i had it peak at 10 psi no problem!

rpm is more like 5-6k... i have deleted governor and upgraded valve springs

no problem anymore! i added a fuel pump now when i run full throttle i can feel the torque! wheels are breaking loose on a 25mph roll lol

also interccoler doesnt affect the compressor surge limit... only air temp but well i'm running boost on this engine since more than a year and still running strong! but i have an intercooler to mod for it ;)

wow i havent signed in here forever!

major things happened in my life like i got the hell out of my parents house and got my own appartment with a huge double garage! hehehe witch i converted to a custom shop in less than a month lol

got some new machinery like a mig welder, band sander ,sandblast booth, powdercoat kit/oven, polisher, horizontal bandsaw, made myself a tig welder out of a old arc welder (works awesomely well), custom air compressor and a ton of other tools! next week i'm buying a plasma cutter :p

got a new project car! toyota ae86 GTS! we just finished stripping it and i took the motor appart last week! we plan on rebuilding the whole fram and then cutom fitting a stupidly high HP engine in it :p

i did some work on my camry like swapping it to a 5 speed tranny and putting a fidanza flywheel and lightened crank pulley... also a 3" exhaust with SS headers and relocated my knock sensors witch now puts my 94 camry close to 200hp! i am currently rebuilding and polishing the hell out of a holset hx35w turbo that i will be installing in the camry this winter! witch should bump the little camry's power to about 280-300 whp :p


yesterday i took the shopping cart into the garage for a massive tuneup! i had stripped the 2 6mm bolt holding the carb's flange into the head so i need to retap the head so i can use bigger bolts.... the fuel system needs a major modification so i can run my turbo setup properly! i have 2 options.... either i try to make it work with a low pressure fuel system and boost adjusting FPR or i say **** it and run it full injection with microsquirt! i want the thing ho haul ***! i may also slap a torque converter on it to better use the power!
