Maybe a new, good concept. Speedometer setup

Was browsing on some buggy forums, and they have a good solution for putting speedos on. Since the wheels have suspension and they're moving all over the place, it can be hard for the speedo to work right. So...
They put the magnet for the speedo on the axle sprocket!
I think it's a pretty good idea. I may try it sometime.

I bought a cheapospeedo from Chinabay. It was like $12, and was the old school analog type.

Didn't pan out.

Bicycle gps speedometer. Or a free phone app works better always. I have a remote control car gps speedometer on my stuff. Works great and is self powered.

Input voltage: DC 5-12V or so it says.

That could be anything, maybe even rigging up a 9V battery. The HUD display is a useless, gee whiz novelty for us but that digital display, maybe with a hood over it might work all right in direct sunlight.

I have a speedhut 3 3/8 gps speedometer and its ultra sweet. Have their Can bus shift lights also.

Sometimes I need to know if I'm going the speed limit. Yes, on the road. For a little bit. Just to get to a friend's house.

lol, Speed limit? There isn't really a speed limit for something road-illegal.

Just be courteous to other people on the road such as using body language to let them pass or if you are making a turn and you should be fine most of the time.

I do not encourage that at all but if you are going to do so anyways you should attempt to be safe during the process.

Since you are low to the ground an orange or red flag or two standing several feet high from the kart will let other vehicles know you are there depending where you ride.

Too bad it does not have an Altimeter. That is what you need.

Does it let you set it low enough to be accurate with a smaller than tire sprocket?
