Got a new kart for $100.
It’s got a few problems that need addressed.
I believe it’s a factory ride with some modifications over the years.
I think the fenders and side skirts are fabbed by evidence of welds and schedule 40 pipe fittings.
we’re not going to talk about the front wheel turning is very impaired by the tire rubbing right now. Anyone recognize the the main frame?

I was able to find the original builder.
it was built for racing at a local kart track for kids and about 5 years ago down sized for testing up yards.

It's got really well done and creative metal work, quite impressive. I can also appreciate that the answer for making a solid joint for an odd angle of some 70 degrees or so was to jam the tube into an oversized screwpipe ell to accommodate it at an angle, and just weld 'er up.

I'm thinking it was a Carter Brothers kart. The rear frame section and the way the jackshaft mounts on that plate on the left rear look very Carter-like as well as the throttle rod with the throttle stop collar. It's definitely had some extra "gingerbread" added to it over the years as you mentioned. Carter usually put an ID sticker with the model number and serial number near the seat area. If it's been repainted though, it is doubtful that the sticker might still be there though.

Was the engine run without the air cleaner? I see that a lot on used karts for sale, way too often. That's a big red flag on engine health.

I'm thinking it was a Carter Brothers kart....

I noticed the Carter Brothers features too, so I figured it started life as a Carter Brothers kart of some kind but it's now heavily modified
