I would say it is definately worth $100. Not too sure of the make though
thank you for answering, i held it off till morning until i heard from someone here. im actually trading a netbook, he lives 3 hours away so i cant pay cash since ill need $60 for gas. hes giving me the kart with the tecumseh 5.5ohv motor and a PSP (portable playstation) i didnt ask for the PSP but he insists i take it since i have to drive so far.

Have you heard anything about the tecumseh 5.5 ohv ??? quality? availability of parts? pros, or cons?

will clone parts fit it??

Yup- I'd pay $100 for that any day. The Tecumseh is a repectable engine, don't let anybody tell you otherwise. Although Tecumseh is now defunct, they didn't stay in business and long as they did by selling garbage.

To clarify things for you- a "clone" is a broad-sweep term for a chinese-built knockoff of a Honda GX-series engine. With a few exceptions, there is part-for-part interchangeability between the GX's and clones. Do bear in mind that although some clones are quite good, nothing touches the quality of the genuine Honda. Your Tecumseh is an American brand, and has no commonalities with either Hondas or clones.

Hey BD, I was going to get that kart but I didn't want to make that drive. I don't care what kind it is, you're getting a deal. Let us know how it goes. That's a good engine BTW.

i drove there, 3 hours there, 2hours 20 back, pulled up and seen it was tiny, no way i would have ever fit in it and took off before anyone knew i was there but now im kicking myself in the arse wondering if maybe that wasnt the kart and what if the big one was out back and he just saved a few bucks and painted both the same color. so now i dont know what to do somehow im gonna find out how big it is to see if its worth going at again, cause if its normal size i would hate to miss out on it but if its a midget ill pass

Could you ask to meet halfway? maybe throw in an extra 20 bucks for the effort.

Pity... IMHO, you missed out. Even if it was smaller than you expected. Exactly that just happened to me. The kart in my Classic Kart Restomod thread is SMALL! Then again, it is a classic-style fun kart, and they ARE small. But FUN!

I digress. Even if it was too small for you, you could have put some lipstick on it and flipped it for a tidy profit... Or maybe you reacted too quickly, were wrong, and rooked youreslf out of a great kart.

im gonna text him shortly and ask him to measure it tomorrow or something, im hoping its a larger one and not the mini i saw. hope hes not too upset either about being stood up. if he gives me the chance i decided im gonna make it right and take the kart either way, i figure the motor could be decent and supposedly runs, and i can put a 3hp briggs on it and sell it off if i have to.
