Hey yall! My son's and I have rebuilt and customized a few carts and have used this site to fix alot of issues and anwer questions we've had. So thanks for all the great info. Living in the big metroplex, there aren't alot of great places to go openly unless you or someone you know has land but we make due lol. Our most build came from an old Murray Explorer about 3 months ago and she's lookin pretty clean. Aptly named Dragula, this stage 1 drag Kart is to be the first in a line of "Creepy Carts" we want to do. Let us know what you think or if you have any questions!20220407_215718.jpg20220407_215707.jpg20220407_215701.jpg20220407_215605.jpg

That’s not Dragula! Dragula was built by George Barris back in 1964. It was Grandpa Munster’s coffin FED drag car for the episode Hot Rod Herman. Gold metal flake paint, purple velour interior and 289 Ford engine. It also was “refreshed” and made an appearance in the 1966 Munster movie Munster Go Home! After filming wrapped up it was unceremoniously left in England. It was brought back to the US some time in the 70’s and hung in the ceiling of the Planet Hollywood casino in Atlantic City NJ until it closed in the 90s. It was taken down and treated to a full restoration. It’s current whereabouts are unknown. Believed to be in a private collection.
Fun fact: When George Barris had his big auction in 1983 the Munster Coach was sold to a museum in England. A couple of years ago it was finally for sale again and came back home to the US. It is now in a private museum hidden away. It is in original as built condition except for the tires and wheels. George got mad when he lost his sponsorship deal with Radir wheels and Mickey Thompson so he put the Ansen Sprints and BF Goodrich tires on it. :lolgoku: :welcome2:
Sorry for the little detour. Nice kart by the way! Stick around and enjoy the fun!

I do dig the kart by the way! I don’t think I made that clear enough earlier, and I wish to apologize for that. I would like to hear more about the kart. Maybe you could start a thread in the karts section.
