I have a worn out GX160 with a wet clutch reduction unit on it I'd like $50 for it. I opened the reduction unit and the clutch and all looked to be in great shape. I never heard the engine run but was told it was getting worn out & burning oil so the real value of this is in the reduction unit. I'd consider parting it out to save on shipping, shipping the whole engine would run about $50 parcel post from zip 99687 I actually have 2 of these but one is missing a few parts. Here's what they sell for new. http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_304_304

It looks like the reduction unit is setup to go on an engine with a 20mm output shaft so if you're trying to put it on an engine with a smaller diameter like 3/4" you'll have to make a sleeve to make up the difference, unless you're putting it on a GX160 or a GX160 clone then I could include the crankshaft for you to swap out. If all you want is the reduction unit I'll sell it for $40 a little more if you want the crankshaft, shipping will be $15 if I can get it to fit in a large flat rate box. Here are some sprockets that will fit the 22mm output shaft on the reduction unit. http://www.quickieparts.com/go-kart...cessories/jackshaft-sprockets-40-pitch-1.html
As far as payments, paypal would be fastest or you could send a cashiers check or a personal check but I'd have to delay sending it till it clears.
I did manage to get the engine started today, it smokes pretty bad and won't rev up much past idle I'd guess the rings are shot I didn't hear any horrible sounds coming from it though. here's a pic of the actual engine. If you want it PM me and we can discuss specifics

hey toofarnorth, I have a GX160 clone w/ reduction unit. I'm just wondering which oil is the best for the reduction unit (I've heard the same oil as the motor works fine). I saw a Valvoline ATV synthetic suitable for wet clutch use, but I'm not sure about it. and secondly, I found the dipstick on the R.U. really weird (is FULL at the top of the semi-circle portion of the dipstick?) Thanks for your help.

Hi Motorhead. You can just use ordinary oil in the reduction box. There is no need to get anything special. I have a manual with the oil specifications for the reduction box. Here are some snaps of the manual.
