Same Buddy.. 48v - 1800w BLDC, ,w/ 2 - 13s -3p packs in parallel.
AUW is 75lbs.!
It does 35+mph , with 6.1-1 gearing,, & runs around 45min.,, with a 200lb. Guy on it.
Motor just gets warm,, & controller stays cool as a cucumber.
Packs get a bit warm, but not hot,, which is acceptable.

They look good, nicely done. How fast will the elec. mini bike go? I also like the front rim on the second mini bike, where did you find that at?

Nice! I like the way you packaged the motor, batteries, and components. You should do a write up on it with more details of the electrical components you used.

Thanks vpd . :)

Just got another reply on my welcome thread from a Guy in WI.

I 'am also on ''old mini bikes'', using the same user name.
Have that build all up there on one of my threads.

My Buddy & I have a couple of vintage ''complete'' race Kart chassis lined up for elect. conversions
We have to take a trip to IL. to pick them up yet,, probably this Sun. now ....
Looks like mines a vintage Coyote ''Bullet'' sprint, from the later 80's.
Got it for 250 bucks ! :p

His we are not sure yet,, as the Guy is also going to offer him a vintage one, out of a few selections.
We live in, & outside ,, Cedar Rapids IA .

I will start a thread here on them, once they are in my shop.;)

Regards,

Ian

Clean work! How does the top end compare with gas, and what rpm's does the motor run at with 48V?
I would expect the acceleration to be quicker with the electric setup (unless you have it ramped down)(?).

Thanks Guys !! . :)

My slightly massaged GX -200 is pretty frigg'n quick.
Gearing on that is 5 - 1.
It compares with the acceleration of an ''old school'' Harley for almost a block, & you gott'a lean forward & hang on it pretty good,, to keep the front end down.

The 48v isn't near as quick,, as the gearing on that is 6.1 - 1 ect. ect. ,, but it's just about as fast.
If it was geared @ around 7 - 1,, it would be pretty quick,, but I doubt still not as quick as the GX.

Free wheel'n the ''whole electric bike'' on the stand, with the laser tach,, I was getting 5,200 rpm's +,,,, in 3rd speed.

Am guessing,, listening to the pitch of the motor under load, - ''up a good size hill'',, is around 1,500 rpm's 'or so' less.
