Departed on the eoll cage design and went closer to Fuzzy's design above. Went bigger on the roof to have a larger rack up top.

Ok, wheew! Back online. New house, bigger garage. Hitting the welding hard. Straying quite a bit from the build plans.

Ok, after many hours of thinking, im staying with the plans to go big. 6 wheels, and the rear rwo axles will both have power. Im going to also do the triple seat setup with the elivated "gunner" seat centered in between the driver and passenger seats. I will definitely need additional gussets/supports all over the place, but I think it will work.

Bumper on the front is this guy.... im going to take a ton of the steel on the bottom and sidesb(to lighten it up), in addition to taking about a foot out of the tubing to shrink it to a narrower width.20211226_005827.jpg20211226_005735.jpg

I plan is to have this finished before June for offroading this summer, but if I can swing it, I am going to do a snow run out to our cabin in Idaho in the spring. I just got the skis in from Canada if I can finish before spring. Essentially they are 7" wide in the trough, and just under 10" overall width. Ill make a bracket/ratchet mouting system so I can ride my front tires into the trough, strap up, and have skis up front. Very similar to the YouTube video below. Additionally I will be using these paddle tires on the rear wheels with this setup.20211226_005415.jpg20211226_005435.jpg

I don't want to start a fight ...so I'll say that I really appreciate to plethora of photos the mad professor sends in, and he's done some great work.
but that butt ugly paint job is so distracting it's difficult to see the excellent fabrication that he's accomplished. I'll go away now ! sorry
Just my opinion .

Where did you get the wheels from? And how much were they each? If I may ask.
BMI Karts. https://www.bmikarts.com/8-x-7-Rim-4-on-4_p_1559.html
They were about $23 per. Steel, and they definitely feel/look great. If you spend over $250 shipping is free. Im planning on having two seperate sets for the rear (dirt/paddle tires). I specifically got the 4 on 4" bolt pattern because its a commom trailer tire bolt pattern. I bought a trailer hub kit from using Fuzzy's advice to make my front hub/spindles from. The actual axle that will be welded onto my vertical Spindles is 1.25" thick, so much stronger that commonly purchased go kart spindles: https://www.amazon.com/Rigid-Hitch-...3EVYW9Q#aw-udpv3-customer-reviews_feature_div

I didn't get my welder settings dialed in till I was about halfway through the barrels. But good enough.

I got this 100ish year old pipe vice for $20. Its been really handy for cutting and welding.

You're definitely bringing the bulky, just my style, ain't gonna give way to nuttin' that's in your way.
Great bench-mounted old pipe vise, by the way. Also just my style, love any antique tools, Daddy gave me several.

Little by little. Its going to have a wide stance, but that will allow 22" tall tires up ftont, and extra room ror the skis.... and from my big butt tipping over in the sand dunes. Im using 5/8" bolts on the front and rear suspension, and on the verticle spindle bolts. Realising I forgot to buy nuts up front.20220106_222449.jpg20220106_225345.jpg20220106_231456.jpg
