Waiting to order parts for my kids other project so figured I’d start messing around with another frame. This will probably get put on the back burner once I get their stuff in but iv always wanted a racing style gokart. Kinda winging it, and if I ever find a frame locally for a decent price I’ll buy it but for now this is all i’v got. If it actually turns out to roll straight then I have a 79 cb750 project that iv been trying to get rid of that I may just end up cutting up to put in something 🤷‍♂️

No such thing as false confidence. Just take your foot off the gas long enough to get everything back under control. If I were going put a 750cc bike engine in something ( love the idea ) I think I would like a good factory built frame, but then I don't weld. I buy beaters, flat tires, ripped seats, not running ect. Then I go from there. Just as long as the frame is good and I like the style of the kart.

I would definitely prefer a factory built one, but I’m a stay at home dad with a bunch of kids so I have to work on a tight budget usually. With that said I have still been scrounging the internet but haven’t come across anything that I find is worth the money yet. I figured even if this one just turns out to be a prototype, I could always turn it into a wagon haha

A buggy would definitely be more practical. Where I live I’m like 1,000 ft from a trail head and I have the perfect land for one but my heart has always wanted a racing cart/shifter cart after seeing a movie about them when I was a kid 😂 who knows, maybe it is just 2 different projects. I have 3 older boys who can drive them now and a younger son and daughter who is still growing so I guess I just need a whole fleet!

So I added in a few more supports in quick tonight, but I’m starting to think I should pick up some thicker tubing and start over. I didn’t realize I was only working with 14 gauge and I know it’s going to take me awhile to complete it due to funds so I think I should probably do it right the first time. Maybe I should throw some wagon wheels under this and make a few sides for a tow behind wagon that matches
