Engine still wont start :(

been working on it for i dont know how long, first i just replaced the crank but now i replaced the carb because i thought that could be the problem, i have my crankshaft and camshaft alligned, i got spark and oil and gas, and i have my valves adjusted correctly and i put an aluminum flywheel in i have the key in it and the gap between the ignition coil is right and i got compression any ideas? this is what it sounds like trying to start it, it sounds like it wants to but dosent

I watched the video, didn’t hear a pop or wheeze but it “sounds” healthy with the doop doop out of the header, like it’s pumping air as it should...

Pull it several times, pull the spark plug and see if it’s wet and if there’s the delightful smell of gasoline coming from the spark plug hole? Will it run from the carb with ether/starting fluid sprayed in there? That’s just for a confirmation fire.

What gets me, is many of these newer engines will not start without the choke on, even when warm/hot. Your carb has an enrichener circuit instead of a butterfly plate but it makes me want to cup my hand over the carb bore and restrict some airflow while pulling.

the spark plug isnt wet nor does the spark plug hole smell like gas and id have to get starting fluid to test that but if that dosent start it what might it be? if you know lol

sooooo i used propane and it sounded like it was starting for a second then died i couldnt get that first attempt on video but the second attempt it only sputtered sorry for the fumble at the beginning lol

If it fires with ether through the carburetor/intake, then you have a fuel/fuel delivery/air-fuel-mixture issue. You may have too much air, not enough fuel or even an air leak in that area (check your gaskets and nuts and bolts).

Propane eh? I have never considered propane.

ill check the gaskets and everything but if its not that how would i get it to actually get fuel? its a brand new carburator so nothings clogged the bowl gets gas i think it might be the jet because i heard the stock jets on them suck but i got new ones they still havent came yet tho lol but if its not the jets too what else could it be
