Hello all,

Yesterday I was taking my driven pulley of my Trailmaster Hurricane 200X. And cleaned it all thst good stuff. Then I put a new belt on. Now this is where the problems start.

The belt is some bit tighter than the og belt. Is thsr a problem. But the bigger thing is the washer for the driven pulley would not fully slot in. It was touching and in line with the keyway. So I tightened the bolt down. It seemed that nothing broke. Is thst washer supposed to be like that? I couldnt ride cause it started down pouring. So was I dumb to tighten it.

Typed on phone fast at work. Sorry for any errors.

Thank you,

Everything should fit nicely together. You should not need the bolt to pull it all together. You did use blue Loc-Tite on the bolt before you put it in right? Sounds like you should take it apart again and make sure?

There's no loctite lol. Maybe that's the problem. The bike has 23 hours. At 10 hours it became sluggish and I cleaned the torque converter bolted it back on and again at 23 hours but it wouldn't fit all the way on as I said. I will look into how it is when I get home.

Well I took it all apart. And the washer was warped? I don't know how to describe what it looks like. So here's a picture.

I have a new one coming tomorrow. The bore looks OK. I will do more research next time. As to not waste anyone's time.

Sounds like something was not lined up properly. And you’re not wasting anyone’s time. We’re here anyway to help lost souls! :ROFLMAO: You are using GENUINE COMET BELTS, right? They outlast the cheap ones and won’t gum up the clutches. Use only graphite spray or dry powder to lube the clutches. Oil is a big no no!

Huh?
We re all here wasting time, hoping for a chance to answer a question, cuz we don't have (or want) any shop projects.
The validity of the answers you recieve may vary by time of day, the boredom level, and the amount of "refreshments" consumed by the respondants.

It's a gps belt. It's here so I'll use it till it breaks though. Though I bought a comet belt with the stage 2 that's on the way.

The driver clutch gets VERY HOT after extended running. But that washer ( a manufactured piece ) is pretty thick. It would take a lot to warp it. On the other hand there is not one edge on it that is not just eaten up really bad. Take a small file with a flat surface on it and clean that thing up. It is probably salvageable. I realize that you have a new one on the way, but it always helps to have extra parts. When putting it back together, put some blue thread locker on the bolt, hold the outside of the clutch with a strap wrench, and torque the bolt to 25 lb.ft.

Alright I got that. Good thing I have some blue threadlocker on hand from when I thought I was gonna need it. And just saved in case.

Is the belt slipping, or the engine struggling. Your description is not real clear. Maybe you put the clutch back together incorrectly.

Never had a belt that needed to be broken in. But glad to hear that all is good. Have yourself some fun.
