Catch Can Query

I am running a GX270 clone and I want to know if there are specifics as to where to mount a catch can?
The chassis is a 2003 Margay for a KT100.

You can mount it anywhere as long as its positioned so the inlet/breather is at the top. I've seen-em work fine up higher than the valve cover to way down low like mine here here in this pic:

It runs off the breather on the motor to catch any oil that is passed through the breather and prevents it from reentering the carby.

I was thinking coolant! Sorry for the confusion.

I always figured most kart racetracks required 4-cycles to have catch cans to keep from spraying oil hot on the other racers and the track.
