i have a 6.5hp tec but its always had carb issues. it got a brand new rod in there so i dont want to waste it. can i use any carb as long as the correct adapter is made? how would using a diferent carb affect tuning or runing?

PS i dont want to spend lots of money on it. maybe $20-30 on ebay

thanks

Well chances are you would need to do some slight jetting. Whats wrong with that? And its the way carbs work, If both engines consumed the same volume and velocity of air at the same timing then it would probably work without jetting. Your 5 hp tec has a smaller bore X Stroke then say the GX390.

i had jetting problems with the klr600 i got. diferent places said i needed diferent sized jets. hard to find. lots of fidling. etc.

i was wondering if anyone knew of a way to make molds and pour your own fuel oil resistant plastic. i need to know what the plastic is called.
