so i’ve been getting lots of recommendations to put one of those predator engines on my go kart since mine currently doesn’t run.

You should be able to, it looks like there's a Honda Clone engine on there already. Measure the engine mount plate against the base of a Predator to be sure. The seat clearance could be an issue also. I would be leery about the wire holding the jackshaft washers and bearing in place.

the engine mount fits. so would putting a new engine lose the ability to use the key switch and kill switch up in the front of the kart?

No more electric start unless you convert it. There is supposed to be a kit out now to do just that. If you look in the electric section on here there is a guy wanting to put lights on a small predator and I think it tells where the kit is and how much.

Put one of these electric start engines on it. Wire up your key switch and kill switch. You'll need a battery. Grab a 12 volt test light, find you hots and wire into the engine key box.

No, that's a Subaru engine. Way better quality than a Chinese engine, but parts are becoming an issue.
If ya can get it running id roll with it.
My kart with a Subaru is probably one of my most reliable toys engine wise.
