building center yoke for cv live axle

I've not been able to find a sprocket drive "diff" for live axle cv setup. How is this accomplished? Will run a kl250 engine and want irs. Just gathering ideas.... And parts for a soon to be build but focusing on rear suspension first as will be most difficult. Any ideas?

Unlesss u split the power 4 ways then more joints dont mean more power

The power still has to travel though each joint individually
The power is slit 2 ways at the rear catridge
Meaning 2x4hp shafts
8hp out put

Also theyre rated to 4hp in that straight position
Once u angle it they decrease rapidly

But if u buy a beter brand of uni then u should be able to find 20hp ones of the same size
I think itll be the keyway that lets down the power rateing though

Using unis will.be alot cheaper
And with a 250 u wont be comeing fast enough to worry about them
Just remember to phase the unia and run both ends at the same angle

If u want cvs then u may have to find an old small displaement car that has rear wheel drive and irs

Or buy a mini spool that suit tbe cvs u want to use and machine a bearing carrier for it

A car diff will be very heavy on a car and drain alot of power though

So I could build a jack shaft in center with axle sticking out both sides, put these on (welded?) And essentially build my own cvs. Noticed they have a 12 hp rated uni on that website that may be a better choice? Seems pretty straight forward. So 4 bearings are needed, 4 unis, and 5 various sized lengths of axle... 1 for jackshaft, 2 for wheel mounts and 2 for the connection of the 2 unis correct? Plus sprocket mount and brake mount etc...?

Yeah, didn't think about it like that at first..... The first 2 joints see half of the out put, each......
The one I linked is a 5hp version. They have a 12hp and 28hp version as well.....
I think its still cheaper/easier to go this route than making a cv irs for a kart.....

Not sure about the power split 2 ways I mean yes it would if both tire got the same traction but it is not like that, I would think each joint would need to be able to take full load?

Your typical race car loses 10-15% of its hp through the drive train. Engine makes 500hp at the crank, but you're only getting 450ish at the back tire.....
At the center section, the engines power is divided in 2. Half the power goes to each joint. So a 10hp engine would only be exerting 5hp to each side. If one of those joints broke, then all 10hp would instantly be transferred to the remaining joint.

hey guys. i have been digging in the internet for ideas and answers. i want to build a go kart with a Arctic cat 700. the engine makes about 80hp. my speed i am shooting for 60. i am guessing i am going to need cv axles and joints? also the big question. like please help. is how to connect the 2 axle to make a solid axle to add a sprocket in the middle.
