I decided that I didn't have enough table space in the shop and I needed more storage. So I decided to build my own work bench that had a storage shelf underneath. Table top is going to be 48" x 48", made out of two layers of 1/2" ply wood and topped with 1/8" steel sheet. Pictures coming shortly.

:roflol: Did I provide some inspiration?

Good work man, keep it coming

Haha, WOW, I actually JUST saw your bench now. Thats kind of scary how similar they are. Yours turned out real nice. I'm jealous of your vise.

As for doors to the shelfs? I don't know yet, we'll see. The doors are nice to keep the dust of things. Right now I'm just trying to get if finished and maybe later I'll feel like making doors.

Thanks.

That vice cost me $20 & needed a bit of work. Apart from the massive crack down the middle, all the threads holding the jaws on were stripped so I had to make inserts for them; I'll get some pics up soon

Could I get a link please? :auto:

Got some work done, almost done. Just need to bolt the metal lid down.

Got my little go kart up there too but that's a different story.

That's awesome!

Can I make two suggestions:
1. rotate your pics before you upload them; it's a bit hard on the neck :roflol:
2. Have you thought about welding lateral bars about half way up the legs to add a bit of strength?

Ha, yeah sorry about the pictures, I'm just lazy I guess...

Yeah, I'm actually thinking about shortening the table a little bit. It's a little high for me, I'm not very tall. Then I might think about putting in some support.
