3206 Build begins

I picked this 3206 up a few weeks ago. Original Howhit. Wiring torn to bits so not running, but engine spins freely and ran purportedly a year ago. The frame is in great shape. The floorpan needs some repair. The swingarm is trash.

I began the tear down tonight. Pulling the engine was surprisingly easy.

1. Remove throttle cable.
2. Remove airbox
3. Remove carb and manifold
4. Remove steel electrical plate where cdi rests.
5. Remove exhaust-the weird long acorn nuts make it simple
6. Remove chain guard bolts
7. Undo Chain tensioner- engine will rotate down here.
8. Fully remove chain guard and take chain off sprocket
9. Remove long engine mount bolt. Block engine with wood before removing bolt.
10. Remove engine from rear

I have a spare swingarm. Still deciding on the engine. Either a 175cc or a 184 striker...the 175 is more within the desired budget though. We will see.

New chassis and engine wiring harness on hand.
Racing cdi and coil also.
35t sprocket and a fresh axle ready for when the chassis prep is complete.
Fresh swingarm bushings.
Upgraded rear hubs

That’s it for now. This build will take a little time as I’m working on the dingos as well as the Baja and the 30032 yerfdog.

Depending upon how this build goes it will determine how the 3209 ultimately gets built as well. Perhaps a 175cc for the first build and a 184 striker for the 3209. Time will tell. Most likely will try and sell the original Howhit.

This build is dead. I have the engine but ended up selling the frame. I picked up another Spiderbox in better overall condition to work with.

Did you pick up that spiderboz in southern Colorado? It's identical from my memory of one I saw posted not too long ago!
