Hey guys i was bored and found this and paid 30$ for it just got it home and too dark for me to get a picture but I wanted to enter it into the build off the next post will be the sign and parts pile.
-edit-
I did some gewgling and I think it's a sears drover which is pretty cool and I think this has it's original paint if not then I'm repainting it if it is original then I'm leaving it like it is.

If anyone can help me confirm it's a sears drover then please let me know also I have a 5hp Briggs and a 60's ish 5hp Tecumseh H50 I was thinking either shiny painted frame and patina engine or strip the Tecumseh to bare metal and clear coating it and painting the frame
Edit: mockup pics it looks really cool!

Started doing some work on it and made a kool recycled seat pan. the metal plate is from a BKS ground hawg, and my friend aka "scooter guy" suggested i use half a skate board :idea2: if I can find one as the seat pan. but I'll do that on something else.

Looks great so far! I think if you want the original style, the Tecumseh's the way to go, TBH. As much as I don't want to have one, they were commonly used as stock engines.

PS - This build thread is a LOT better than your previous ones! Details make the difference, and showing everyone the process greatly increases your chance of winning.

Thanks! :)
So I did some sanding priming on the seat pan and ran out of primer so I am just going to paint the rest since it isn't too bad. I'm painting it satin black because it won't been seen very much.
But the paint on the rest of the frame is really bad so it's going to take quite a bit of work to make it pretty. Also I can post more detailed picture because I'm trying to get the least help I can on it, i want it to be only me wrenching on it.

Why hasn't my thread been moved/approved? Whatever I'll continue. Ok so seat pan painted I bolted it down and need to shorten my spacers slightly or get some rubber under the seat to save rattling and paint. But it's mocked up, still no axles the motor is too tall so it doesn't fit I'll try the 212 just to get it driving.

Alright thanks landuse
I figured out a predator won't fit so I have to run a 3hp engine no matter what or smaller but 5hp engines won't fit. Also axles:wai:

What is stopping a predator from fitting? Flatheads are cooler for sure, but what if you relocate the predator tank and do a header with aftermarket air filter?

Yea then it would fit but I don't have money for that stuff also it would be going like 60mph and I don't think I need that kinda speed. I rather trade for an old flathead

Uh oh motor troubles again... sorry for no updates guys haven't made progress I might as Well repaint it now because I haven't been able to fit a motor up to it I have a 4hp Tecumseh that starts first pull and a 2-
3hp Briggs that has no spark burned oil and a bunch of other things but it fits...
And I also have a 5hp Tecumseh I took the fly wheel off of so I can clean it and find a carb for it (slide carb) also the 5hp won't fit lol

Maybe try building a header and just going after the aftermarket air filter stuff? That would cut down on cost for sure, I "had to" stage 1 the engine for my trike to get it to fit, it's worthwhile to figure out. Got an extra frame or something you could sell to get the dough?
