Had my eye on a roller kart here at the shop and the boss finally gave it to me. I'm all about getting the best bang for your buck, grassroots fast with style. Here is the start and progress on later post. Enjoy! What I was given and the progress on the frame. Stripped everything I had no use for. Had it sandblasted and sealed it myself.

Power solutions

Bought a like new Predator 212cc motor cheap but after research I came to this conclusion. Its going to be boring trying to haul my 200lb self around. A power upgrade is a must at this point. So i bought a low mile 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250. I've yet been impressed with any 250cc 4 stroke build so this is my chance to be impressed

Ninja Breakdown

First I removed all plastics on the bike that would be in my way. I made sure to be as gentle as I could to resell what's not being used on the kart. Using the gas tank, motor, harness, rear brake components and instrument cluster. Everything else will be sold to put back into the build. Removed harness and motor second along with cooling system. Going to strip the motor and give it some new color all said and done. The Kirkey seat seams like it will fit well with a small trim to match the contour of the fuel tank when mounted on top the motor.

So I have the motor and all out and I had a hour to kill. Did some quick mockup with the seat and the motor. Considering installing a jack-shaft set-up to keep my wheelbase closer. Unless I can mount the motor where the front side is parallel up and down. Anyone have any input?

I would suggest giving in and lengthening the wheelbase. This kart will be moving and longer wheelbases are more stable. Either that or put the engine up a bit and back, over or slightly behind the axle. Probably need a jack-shaft for that set up.

Nice input. Just ordered a stick of 1" tubing with a 95 wall to brace the frame to my standard. Trying to stay away from a jack-shaft to save money, weight, etc. But I will deeply considered it if gearing isn't where I want it. The wheel-base is already a minimum of 6 inches longer the what was factory, so eliminating frame flex is a must.
