so today i picked up a 1972 arctic cat panther with a 340 cc engine in it and a separate parts engine. I am having a problem with the spark. when the kill switch is plunged in one calendar has spark and when I unplug it both have spark. when I push the kill switch neither have spark. when is it that only one calendar has spark?

well I figured out something, one of the points is stuck open and seems to be mangled. apparently I spoke too soon it does not have spark on the problem cylinder. i was just seeing if I would get shocked. how do I get the flywheel off. I try to make a puller but i broke a bolt when I tried to use it.

well I found out why the fly wheel was so hard to get off. There was a starter ring. I ended up pulling it off the flywheel. I have the little pin. ho do I go about putting the gear back on, or do I even have to.

when I pulled the flywheel I did not realize that I needed to take the cover off and the starter gear got stuck on the case and came off. I did not know there was a starter gear because there is not a starter.
I did not put the starter gear back on but I put the flywheel back on and fixed the pints. I used some 20 to one in a zoom bottle put it into the carb and the engine ran! one major problem is that the tc wont engage. How can I fix that?

Did you get it up to speed to get the CVT to engage? These don't engage until like 3000rpm or so.

What brand is the CVT and does it have a model number. Trying to see if it was a Comet or some other brand. Looks like if it was a Comet, it'll be stamped on the driver. Looking for some sort of diagram or manual for it or the sled.

I think it is a clone tc. I watched this video and noticed that mine has the same nut retainers.

Best guess I can find is the Salsbury 910. It has a similar design to the 780. Found an article talking about the Panther, it having a 4 stroke 8hp Kohler engine, Sachs 303 rotary engine (surprisingly popular back then), Kawasaki 440, the 340, and a 399. https://snowgoer.com/top-stories/flashback-the-1972-arctic-cat-panther/26641/

I'm just making an assumption based on the article that yours is a 910.

I tried looking for a service manual last night, came up empty handed. You may have to go to a power sports dealer and buy one through them. I'll look again in like 5 hours when I'm on my lunch break and have more time to look.
