Had planned on the typical 72v build but found a few of these 120v mower batteries cheap. Went with a pretty huge fork lift KLB kelly controller and wired up 2 mower bats in parallel. Had to limit the amps to around 40 and reduce the motor speed. Really needs a couple more batteries and gears so I can crank it up. But Its a violent little ride! topped it out at 42 with the factory gears.

Did you swap out the motor yet? You could definitely increase speed there too.

I did. It's the cheap china brushless 72v 3000w motor. They are about $80 shipped, and are a direct bolt on for the most part.

Are those two batteries getting about 12 minutes of run time? Looks like you could easily fit two more in there.

Depends on how hard I am on them. I got roughly 5 miles being extremely mean to them. Was trying to stress test and overheat the motor. Outside case got to 121* and the battery and controller were at 66*. The batteries were $98 open box deals (basically half price). If anymore like this pop up I'll be sure to grab them. I think 1 more will fit easily. Unfortunately I can't just stack 2 more on the existing packs. I did plumb in an extra Xt90 for future batteries.
