Another few I have photos of this model, when I was trying to research it's original appearance. Originally was trying to restore it but now it's more of a resto-mod.

And last post for today....a current budget. $400 didn't really work, but I didn't think I'd want to make it as nice as it's going to be either. Screenshot_20210108-210648.png

I have a fairly low resolution copy of the company logo, I might be able to ask my contact, he probably has something!

Any help at all would be appreciated. Thank you for offering your time.

I'm building a notebook of the build that will go with whoever buys it. I've been hunting through old catalogs from the very late 70's to the early 80's trying to find a print ad for this go kart. I've seen the old script logos online but nothing after about 76-77 or so.

Making grips for the steering wheel. And making a removable center pad for the steering wheel. Made the B as best I could but I just started sewing 3 days ago.IMG_20210109_190353_4.jpg

All right I sent my contact a message, hopefully he has some pics of the old decals or something, but it may very well be he might not have anything we can reproduce decals from.

Also, this is the Bird Engineering logo I managed to track down in the far corners of the web! :cornut:
I have verified that this is the Bird logo, I once found another Starbird on Ebay (a survivor, untouched), and it had this logo on the steering wheel and several other spots. It can also be seen on the front cowl of this Starbird in this old ad.

Thanks again for the effort. I had found the bird decal before but couldn't really confirm it. That's about the most recent advertisement I've seen.

Got it in primer...gotta get to sanding again tomorrow. Stuck waiting on parts from gopower and mfg (ordered on the 5th). Hopefully they'll get here soon so can test fit before paint. Found out the chassis is a 1975. My 4hp N.O.S Tecumseh is unfortunately the incorrect engine, as the original was a 5hp Tecumseh, but I'm still planning to use it on this kart.

And then there were 2. Neither one is close to perfect but if I can get them to lay straight...then add some pinstripesIMG_20210126_224051_6.jpg

And still gradually receiving all the little parts so I am having to test fit stuff while it's painted but...it's coming alongIMG_20210122_145621_7.jpg

Thank you, I appreciate it. Waiting on the weather to cooperate so I can finish the vinyl, disassemble and clear coat the chassis. Got the brakes figured out though

If I had done it, I would've cut out a template, then spray painted the patterns on. It'll probably be a little more permanent than decals, but that's just me. It looks great by the way!

Only reason I didn't spray paint it was because of over spray tails. It's intricate enough, I didn't want to try to miss a spot masking. Im putting 3M rockguard over it as well
