Honda 5 HP with threaded shaft - need clutch

couldn't you just use a dremel to cut or grind a keyway in the shaft? seems like this would be feasible, install the centrifigul clutch, and use washers on the inside and a nut and washers on the outside to ensure alignment with the sprocket. This might be cheaper than a shop, though you would...

Please help just want it to run!!!

I have an OHH60 on my kart, had the same problem, would run on starter fluid but not keep running, I took the lower bowl off the carb, cleaned out the 2 horizontal holes, and the one little hole right above the threads in the screw that holds the bowl on. I also took out the idle adjusment...

Yep, I found a deal on golf cart rims, steel, 9.5-8 rims about 20 bucks ea. so gonna buy these I think and the 16 dollar hubs and then just go from there. Before i jump on this though, I am running down to the local kart store (kinda) and taking a look at what he has in the back, he is more an...

bighead, I sent the store an email, like I said, I have seen a lot of these on carts, so there has got to be a source for them. The shop in town might have them, and I will check when they open today. My boy and I are going to get a second cart today so I can ride with him. gonna set one up...

Been a week or so since posting, but here is where we are. 1. got the engine running pretty good - the 6hp Tecumseh, had to pull the carb back apart and reclean the passages, clean out the tiny little passages in both the mixtue screws, but the engine runs and idles now. 2. Still need a...

how to remove driven from jack shaft?

For mine, I had to soak it in penetrating oil, put the jackshaft in a vice to support the driven unit and tap the shaft out with a nylon hammer. then, once it was off I hit the shaft with a wire brush and fine sandpaper to get the rust off it. d

Good idea, I will see what I can find for rims and tires, and then buy the hub I need to fit what I can find. The nice thing is, if I find tires and rims cheap enough, that both of these hubs are under $20 a piece so, even if I eventually get both sets, if I find good deals on either size, I am...

I did not need to install longer set screws, as the one on the taller key was perfect and the 90 degree out one locks down on the bushing. The bushing can't spin because it is slotted to fit around the key. Question: I am thinking about investing in a couple of these hubs to fit my axle...

Where is a good/cheap place to get welding metal?

I have seen steel pipe on craigslist too, so check there as well, sometimes guys are getting rid of stuff and you can get a bunch cheap. One guy here in Reno was asking $70 bucks for 28 sections of 4 to 5 foot long 1.5" steel tube - I may see if I can grab some for my roll cage. being short...

I was talking to T-Man about how he modified his 7/8 hex axle to accomodate a 1" hub, and it appears he and I both came to a similar methodology for accomplishment. He has videos up that show what he did, me, not so lucky im afraid, no video, but I will try to explain what I was planning to do...

My kids go kart, tell me what you think?

Kewl, thanks for the info, the only welding I have ever done was 30+ years ago and it was a stick welder. Since I know how to use (or at least did) one of these, that is probably what I will get for my first "garage" welder. I do like your cart, and creativity, and am looking forward to doing...

    WTB Dingo rear Wheel

I still need a wheel for a dingo, but I have a 1" axle on the art (aftermarket I am pretty sure). So what I need is a 9.50-8 steel rim with a 1" center hole and keyway. Please let me know if you have one and what you want for it. I am in Reno, NV btw. Thanks Dave

My kids go kart, tell me what you think?

Kewl Kart, just curious, as to why the single steering arm, vice using an arm going each direction. Also, what are you using to weld with? I am not much of a welder, but am looking for input into what is used for the guys that are truly doing it themselves, so when I go get a welder and learn...

If I can't find the right wheels, is there a hub adapter made that will get me from the center bolt design of the dingo to a standard 4x4 go-kart wheel? I think I have a 1" live axle, but where the wheel goes on it appears to be reduced to 7/8" with a key. OK. I think it is a live axle...

yep, single hole in the middle, not sure about octogon, but it is held on by a key and a single nut. I was thinking about trying to straighten it, maybe put a level on the center hub, figure out where it is high, hit it with a board and sledge. Thoughts? I figure it has to be out of true on the...
