what if I used a 6.5 hp Briggs or Tecumseh?

I really like the 5hp Briggs in my kart, but I was wondering if I could swap it with a 6.5 hp engine in the distant future while still keeping the same chain/torque converter setup? Would I have to do anything else for the swap?

OK so i bought a go cart off of craigslist for $175 bucks, and it has a starting issue...I have to give the pull start short tug for it to engage, and then I can finally pull. From the outside it looks like a perfectly normal pull starter...do I need to replace it or do I need to rewind it...

Done! I got the seat on, and the pipe...it's loud and sounds kinda harley davidson-ish....not my kinda thing...anyways, is there any way I can modify the tone a little bit? I'm pretty happy the way it turned out though...not bad for a first timer!

I ran into a little snag, when I took the muffler off, the part where I'm supposed to have my straight pipe, is rusted and I can't free it. I can further explain my predicament in this detailed photograph... But I'm happy the way it sounds without the muffler anyways... Finishing up the seat...
