After I did the above procedure it was the same as before no better no worse. I did put a couple of drops of oil on the brass bushing. The grease was on the back of the pads & after assembly I cleaned it toughly with Brakleen just to make sure no oil or grease was on the contact points. Are you...

It has a centrifugal clutch. The clutch had quite a bit of rust on the pads & backing. I cleaned off the rust & used brake grease on the back side of the pads.

I am working on a MM 80 go kart. Cleaned & lubed clutch. New carb, starts & runs fine. Brakes not locked up. Leak down test good. But will not go up hill & barely move on flat surface. I appreciate any help. Joe
