Getting the plastic off a quad

Took the 6mm bolt out completely, still the steering bracket was rock solid. Loosened off the big nuts and from the underneath that wasn't going to help. Time to get the 'persuading' tools out ;) After giving it a WD40 squirt I give the bracket a couple of taps with the hammer, nah no good...

Getting the plastic off a quad

Going to work on it again today. Decided to unscrew the 6mm bolt all the way and see what happens. Last resort is unscrewing the big nut 🤞 Don't wish to be rude but was that a joke 😬

Getting the plastic off a quad

I got a quad at the right price... FREE (y) I have to repair the brakes and engine so I gotta take off the plastic, BUT that's the issue. The handle bars bracket has got me stumped. When I remove the handle bars you can see a 6mm bolt in the bracket so me thinks unscrew that and all should be...

    Gas vs GassLess welding

I move me car out of the garage and weld in there. I got the garage roller door up and the back door open AND the fan running 😂, you may call me paranoid about the fumes (when I weld it smells like I'm on a tropical island 🤣🤣).... but I get ya point.

    One step backwards.

Nice home video 👍 I kinda like the smell of the pull start 🤦‍♂️ but the noise is a problem in the backyard. Like you say electric may be the way to go. Gee Functional Artist you got electric videos going back 5 years, now that's commitment 😉

    One step backwards.

I live in suburbia on typical 1/4 acre block. Reason I bought gokart was the grandson (nearly 2 years old) luved sitting in the car's driver's seat playing with the steering wheel 🤦‍♂️. His parents aren't impressed though 😆. We can drive it around the backyard a bit but gee, I didn't know it...

    Ride Videos: GEGcorp2012 Trike

I have a GoPro 8 and it has far better stabilization than the earlier models. I've only used it on my bicycle and it's very smooth. Like to see your GoPro results on your trike ;)

"Scottydownunder" as in from the 'land down under'? If so what part? I'm just south of Sydney.

    FWIW my setup

    Gas vs GassLess welding

Never thought of that (flux forming a gas bubble around the arc, I assumed it just mixed with the puddle to kind of help clean the surface).

    Gas vs GassLess welding

I always setup a fan close to the job when I weld, to disperse the fumes. Annoyingly I have the cool air on my face when I weld 🤦‍♂️, ah well (fan blades are 18" (46cm) across 😬).

"Ziegenstall Motorenschmiede" presents The Vale Special 1st bump in 1-1/2 years

I'm 1.5hr south of Sydney (Australia) and here we would call you 'a bit of a character' (meaning 'If you say that someone is a character, you mean that they are interesting or amusing) 😊 I have to be careful how I word things because when they translate into US colloquialisms, they might mean...

"Ziegenstall Motorenschmiede" presents The Vale Special 1st bump in 1-1/2 years

Wow fella I never seen anyone build their own car before. "When I grow up I wanna be you" 🤣 I'm guessing you found the 'plan' for this somewhere? What's your background? Engineering? .... so many questions 😉

    Gas vs GassLess welding

I watched this guy demo a 'flux welding machine' () and he used the gas shroud on the gun. I took mine off. Any opinions on welding gasless with it on or off? I also see people weld with the shroud resting on the job, I guess that's one way to keep the tip a constant distance from the puddle.

    Gas vs GassLess welding

Hi everyone, I use 0.8mm flux core welding wire (here in Oz, sorry don't know equivalent size in Imperial). My sequence of welding a run is a) use side cutters to get a clean tip on the gun b) weld a bit and stop c) clean what I have welded (using wire brush and file to remove slag) d) goto...

    G'day

I'm 60+ and located 1hr south of Sydney, Australia. I have a 20 month old grandson who loves any kind of steering wheel (found in the car or the shopping center play area or the local park play area). So I purchased a ready built go kart off eBay, hope to pick it up this afternoon. Watched SO...
