New guy from Louisiana - resurrecting my old Dingo 285

Yes, I got it running. It would have made more sense to swap in the Harbor Freight engine, but I wanted to see if I could get the old Briggs & Stratton running again. The metal fuel tank was so bad that I replaced the carb and the tank.

How is the inside of the metal gas tank? A metal tank without corrosion is becoming a commodity.

We need more details. Can you describe the symptoms? Does the engine rev up, but the vehicle speed remain the same? As if something is slipping. or Does the engine bog down when the accelerator is pressed? Does the engine sound like it is struggling? or Does the engine sound fine, but does...

Can you post pictures of your carb? Including the pickup tube. Also, have you purchased a new diaphragm? It’s easy to access- behind those four screws.

New guy from Louisiana - resurrecting my old Dingo 285

My Dingo 285 has been sitting in the barn for almost 20 years. I noticed it the other day so I drug it out and started working on it. The fuel tank is an issue but The information on this forum has been helpful already. I’ll probably start another thread with the progress and issues. Anyway, the...

It looks like you have one more to unscrew on top of the carb. As to the bottom.... not sure. I removed my entire engine before I got to this point.
