I finally found the vintage kart I was looking for my EV conversion.

After decent success with the Manco Street Kart I was yearning for something that could actually turn on a dime. I only wanted an American Vintage race kart, no metric stuff so that all my existing parts would swap over. After a couple years of looking I finally caught an 83/84 Coyote Bullet...

I was finally able to catch a decently priced Vintage Race Kart. Who can tell me what it is? ;-P

I've checked for a name plate of any kind. Only thing I see is on the engine. Update. Facebook was able to help me out. It is an 1983 or 84 Coyote Bullet. Confirmed by the short side wings and odd inner motor mount bar. .

How to add king pin inclination to a yard kart to reduce turning radius?

I know KPI is what causes the inside tire to lift in turns on race karts. I need some of that with my small yard kart. It has a short wheel base but has a large turning radius on the street which is solely where I use it. I'm also thinking about ditching the parallel steering tie rod and...

I call this kart "Sitting Sideways"

I think you can guess where the name came from. This is a Baja Motorsports Dune 6.5 that bought for $60 without an engine or seat. I swapped the dirt tires to slicks, but I'll be going to sawtooth tires soon due not being able to get up my slick hills. I still have a lot of final touches to do...

Go Kart made from two scooters.

I saw this video a while back and chuckled at it. I've since built a few electric karts and I now have a new appreciation for his project. https://youtu.be/sssQMZA6L4M This is actually going to my next project except I'm taking it a bit further than they did. I'll be using two Razor e300...

Hand Controls, why am I just thinking about this???

I've been brain storming how to improve the pedal placement on my Manco Dingo. I've already pushed the pedals out a few inches and now my problem is getting my heels into stable positions while being able to still get to the gas and brake easily. I need my heels to keep me in the seat. Then I...

How well do one wheel gokarts brake?

I'm looking at some road car and yard karts that are one wheel drive. They have a band brake for that same one driv wheel. How well do these brake? Do they pull to one side when braking? Thank you

Can I mount my brake pedal directly to my hydraulic master cylinder?

Would be easy for me to install this way. Just want to make sure it's not a bad idea. This is my master cylinder.

Slowly but surely happening. Stupid powerful Manco Street Dingo 285

First I built a Razor kart because I knew it would be quicker and I needed something to ride ASAP. Now that its pretty much wrapped up I've gained more confidence to continue my monster street kart. Manco Dingo 285 11" wide rears, 9" wide fronts. 16kw Motenergy motor 96v 200amp Kelly Controller...

For an electric kart, what is the relationship of torque and power?

So I've have some good luck with my Razor Dune Buggy adult conversion. The Chinese 48v brushless setup has been tested at up to ~68v and the controller was modified to push ~50 amps. It currently propels the 300lbs of kart and rider to 30mph while still having good torque for getting up hills...

My Razor Dune Buggy Adult Conversion is Complete

After getting my 5yo daughter an electric gokart I needed something I could ride around with here. I was originally going to convert a gas buggy to electric and found a Mango Dingo 285 for a good deal. I then spent tons on a high power brushless motor, 96v controller, and 14 prismatic lithium...

Need some help calculating power requirements.

I've read over the sticky thread and can't get past figuring out the sin of an angle (I keep getting a negative number, lol). So this is what I know and want. My kart with me in it ready to go will weigh ~400lbs (less if I don't use heavy SLA) Want to hit 25mph speed. Will need the torque...

Using Zinc coated bolts as dowels to repair cut frame?

I'm new to welding and was thinking of using these bolts to fix my cut frame. I'll cut the heads off and use the bolt as a dowel. I'll also cut small slits in each side of the frame tubing and weld the bolt directly to that frame. Attached are pictures of my frame as it currently sits.

I want a Manco American Express but can't find one. What else is like it?

I specifically like this design because it is small (short and narrow) but would still fit my 6' frame comfortably. Until I run 220v in my basement I won't have a welder (I'd also have to learn how to weld). I've seen the Vintage Race Kart XL kit and it's way too big and is also very expensive...

Just picked up a brand new Lighting Bug

Just picked up an unused Lightning Bug After modifying and breaking my daughters Power Wheel over and over I finally decided to look for a real go kart yesterday. I immediately found one and picked it up today. The seller posted pictures showing it was not put together and said all the parts...
