    Poboy's critters

Clayton the raccoon and Sammy the cat. Looks like Sammy had a little too much to drink, lol.

    Challenge: who can build it?

The pic is of a very nice full sized vehicle that most of us would love to own and get into trouble with. The thought occurs that this would also be a killer kart project, properly scaled and with a very strong engine. Any takers?

    Mini machine shop

Cleaned up the shop today and it was so nice it deserved pictures. This shop is only 7' x 11', but it's capable of any machine work required for a kart build (or maybe even an aircraft). Lathe, mill, micro drill press, pedestal grinder, a granite surface plate, various measuring instruments...

    Satifaction with completed rebuild

Granddaughter got her first ever ride in a kart today. HER kart. She was a bit apprehensive for the first lap or two, but soon she was grinning. Even got her dad and her in the kart. The pic shows them tearing up the dirt oval track I built, (she's beside her dad, but she's hard to see)...

Milling a VW engine case, etc.

One of the members here asked if I could post some pics of machine ops on my VW engine build. Don't have a lot of pics, but you'll get a glimpse of the madness. Decking the case with a flycutter I made on the mini lathe and mini mill. The case is about as large a piece as the little mill will...

    My Other Build

Two more years and this will be flying. It is a plans-built Sonerai IILS, not a kit. Bought the plans, a lot of 4130 steel tube, a lot of aluminum and engine components. It is a 2 seat aircraft that cruises ~150mph. Also building the engine, a 2287cc VW, highly modified for aircraft use...

    Shed rebuild project

Didn't want to hijack Dengieboy's drift kart post, even though he brought up sheds. So, the pics are "before and after" of a derelict 40'x24' shed on my property. When I moved here last year, the shed was surrounded by tumbleweeds and junk. The roof had caved in from the weight of snow. None...

    Onboard tool kit?

For those of us who may run our karts some distance from our shops, what items would you suggest to include in an onboard tool kit?

    New DIY stinger pipe

Never having been good at leaving well enough alone, I decided the Fox II rebuild will need a stinger pipe. Have some 4130 3/4 x .063 tube left over, and an empty jumbo paint rattle can. Used a small drill poked through a blue shop rag and drilled out the valve. There was still a little...

    WTB: Drive wheel rim

Looking for a Manco 8499B 6" Drive Wheel Rim. Just the rim, I have tires. Tom

    LED lights?

Anyone using LED offroad driving lights on their kart? If so, what type and wattage? Are they sufficient? Thanks! Tom

    Manco Fox II rebuild

Picked up a very used Fox II to rebuild for the grandkids. I figured all the rotating parts were junk - and they were. Didn't pay much for the kart, knowing it would need a lot of work and parts. Got all the old parts stripped off, chipped away the flaking paint, sanded, washed, primed and...

    2 seat project/rebuild

Time to spoil the grandkids. Found this old Fox II locally and bought it knowing it needs a lot of work. So far I've discovered every drive component is shot, and that's not a surprise. I bought all new, including a new electric start Duromax 7 hp. The list includes a new 70 tooth sprocket...

    Old and new

In NW Iowa. Recently bought a FoxII (Manco?) for my grandkids. One 5 year old and three 4 months triplets. It's my job to spoil them, so the kart will get a frame up rebuild, new engine and drive. Live on 6 acres, so there's lots of room for the kids to have a good time. Tom
