I too have been looking into doing one of these alternators/generators under the flywheel as my block has the mounts for it. The issue personally is the high cost of a magnetic flywheel (internal for the alternator). You're lucky to have one from the beginning!

Not sure how I should be searching for these kits, charging circuit kit and other variants using charge(ing) coil, etc are giving me nothing. Is there a better, more universal name for these systems?

That's what I was looking to find out. I'm used to playing with forced induction cars and fuel injection, this carb thing is new to me. So unless the engine demands more air/fuel, I will likely just start running it rich with a larger carb (bigger isn't always better?!?!)? What bothering me...
