Thats a term for a poor tune on a roots blown engine. It can't idle smoothly and surges. Goes from 500 to 2500 rpm and back repeatedly. Makes it extremely hard to get staged in the lights and just sounds like crap. Most people thing it's cool 😎

What's the max tq for a 420 like 19.5lbs? That less than the 24 your stating for the FNR box.

Your not really gonna get more rpms out of a smaller engine. You really do want the torque of the bigger engine. Torque is what moves thing. Torque is what's fun. To make sure of your final gear ratio make a mark on the driven and the tire. Spin the driven and count how many times it goes...

Well then. More rpms would mean adding a jack shaft between the driven and input of the FNR box.

That j-box had me confused for a minute. Your kinda stuck with gear ratios. If it were mine. I'd definitely remove the governor. Open the case, take out all the bits and plug the hole. You will now have to change out the carb cable to work directly from foot to carb. It's not hard. This...

Put the frame on blocks and let the tires spin freely. Then you can stop chasing the kart. I think i hear the clanking your talking about but hard to tell. Try blocking the kart up and see if you can pinpoint the sound.
