Thanks!

Next, we need to establish a/some rear wheel(s)
...to hold up the "tail" :)

First we gotta answer some questions, like should we go with
...(1) wheel or (2) (it's pretty stable so, (1) would probably work)
...stationary or swivel (swivel would probably aid in the maneuverability)
...hard tail or springer (springer would "soften the impact" from the thrust of acceleration)

Hmmmmmmmm

I rounded up & contemplated using
...front/swivel wheels off of a zero turn riding lawn mower
...or some plastic deck support wheels off of a riding mower
...or some "dolly wheels"

Well, I'ma gonna try (2) dolly wheels
...& (2) coil-over shocks

So, I made up, a little "tail" to connect 'em to

That looks awesome!! Have you found that the nose might have the potential to dip and then dig into the ground? Like if you brake hard?
Yup, the "nose" has "dipped" on me, a few times

I was thinkin' of installing a set of small wheels
...but, they didn't seem to be very sturdy
...so, I'm gonna try a simple set of "runners", first ;)

They should provide a bit of "spring" to the front
...& I've maintained ~3" of clearance
...so, the front should still "float"

Um...the Land Speeder has been outta commission, for a minute :ack2:
...'cause, I kinda sold the battery :mad2:

But, the "new" battery just arrived :bannana:
...& it came in/with a "free" carrying case :lolgoku:

* SAM_2417.JPGFYI, that's ~360VDC & ~16kWh of energy right there :2guns:
...& it's equilivent of ~14kg of TNT
...or ~58 sticks of dynamite.

Took me ~1 hour to dismantle it
...& lookie' at all of that "hardware" :smiley_omg:

So, she'll be back on the road soon :auto:

My hair just stood on end by osmosis. That looks like a power pack for a portable version of Ol' Sparky. (Florida's electric chair.)
Go ahead and spoil the picture for me, how much does it all weigh?

That, my friend, is a 360VDC 16kWh (complete) 2014 Chevy Volt battery pack
...the individual modules weigh ~50 lbs. ea. (so, ~400 lbs. total in modules)
...& the "box" aka free carrying case, weighs in @ ~100 lbs. (so, ~500 lbs. for an overall total) ;)

Time for some bigger motors!
Nah,
The power to weight ratio is pretty good
...she'll "turn on a dime" :2guns:
...& with this ~50AH batt pack, she should go-go-go, for hours :sifone:

While the batt pack was off  I figured would be a good time ta go ahead & finish 'er up ;)

So, I "stripped" 'er down all "necked" like
...did some smoothin'
...then, some cleanin'
...& then, some paintin'

I just used some Rustoleum High gloss white
...& made 'er shine

The idea or concept was to model it after a "Land Speeder" from Star Wars
...'cause of the kinda "hover craft" look, that it has to it ;)

But, I coulda swore a Land Speeder was mainly white with some gold or tan trim/accents

So, I did 'er all white
...then, added a silver to the "mesh" (for that "louvered" look on the sides)

Then, I Googled it just ta double check
...& the stupid thing :furious2:is orange

*Well, Ima NOT doin' 'er orange
...then, even I noticed that some replicas even add some "dirty lookin' spots" (for authenticity?) :furious2:

So, I thought...maybe...
...but, when I went ta add them "dirty spots"
...I just couldn't bring myself ta do it :ack2:

So, white & silver it is :2guns:
...& there will be NO dirty spots, on "my" Land Speeder :sifone:
