    Fuel tank sealants

I used the POR-15 gas tank treatment/sealant on a car about 6 years ago. Have the tank out this winter and looked all over with a 'scope. It still looks pretty good.

New auto darkening helmet opinions wanted

I have that one and quite like it, especially for the price. I do not use it terribly frequently, though, so cannot comment on heavy use.

Arachnid Rear Shocks - I think the mounts should line up ...

Finally got back to this and everything now lines up. It is tacked in place and ready to weld. I am thinking I might need a gusset below the horizontal bit that holds the shock mount ...

Arachnid Rear Shocks - I think the mounts should line up ...

Yeah - you're right. We'll cut and replace. The plan is to get to it this weekend. I'll report back with progress ...

Arachnid Rear Shocks - I think the mounts should line up ...

Triangulate - got it! I am thinking about extending the length of 1 1/4 tubing where the current upper mount is with a piece of 1" on the inside for strength, followed by new mounts further out. Would that be strong enough? Perhaps a gusset or two for good measure? Or maybe it would be better...

Arachnid Rear Shocks - I think the mounts should line up ...

Thanks Denny and Pancho, I appreciate the info! And the comment (Pancho) about the build. We are truly learning as we go. Denny - you mention triangulate - does that mean that the mounts need to be in exactly the same plane? That would make sense as it would be the minimal sideways stress on...

Arachnid Rear Shocks - I think the mounts should line up ...

Hi All. My son and I are working on an Arachnid build. We are getting to finishing the swing arm and we noticed that the shock mounts on the back of the body sit about 2" in from those on the swing arm. (see pic below) We rechecked measurements and everything seems to reflect the plans. That...

    Hunting Predator 420

Cool. Thanks for the tip! I had no plan at this point to go for more RPMs but if I can get to 4000 that easily, it seems like a no brainer.

    Hunting Predator 420

Sounds interesting ... but for now we need to stay focused on the build or we will never get it done. I am easily distracted by bright, shiny objects ...

    Hunting Predator 420

Thanks for the info - good to know it will not do this under load! Regarding removing the governor, I was under the impression that that would allow higher RPMs and require a billet flywheel so the stock one does not explode. Would it be enough to limit the throttle travel with the stop screw...

    Hunting Predator 420

My son and I are working on an Arachnid go kart build. A few years ago we got most of the parts, including the engine. It ran well then. As often happens, life got busy and have picked the project up again this summer. We have made good progress so decided to take out the motor to run it for...

    What plans to use?

I am in the early/middle part of a Spyder Karts Arachnid build and their plans are pretty clear. Stretched the cockpit to allow for taller family members.
